IHG it’s 2023…please do better.Immersed in a culture of creativity and surrounded by vibrant street art, experience life as a local at Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York. To everyone looking at this hotel, its a recession, spend your hard earned dollars anywhere but here. Needless to say, I ran out of there and took my family to the newly opened Moxy LES and had an amazing experience - clean, cozy and incredible staff. The staff clearly thought they could jerk me around half the night instead of doing what was right - it’s disgusting behavior on so many levels. As a corporate partner of IHG, its sad to see clear mistreatment of black folks by this property. The biggest slap in the face was checking out the next morning and hearing non-black folks checking in and only being charged for incidentals, not the entire stay. How can you treat someone like this? I was incredibly frustrated, tired and overall upset by the time I went to bed at 3am. I complained again and the staff FINALLY upgraded me to a nicer room - all with little to no apologies, remorse or customer care at 2am. I moved to the second room…next to the loud elevator with marks and dirt all over the walls - a worse room than the first. I went upstairs to my first room (of 3 rooms…)and was met with a poop streaked toilet, I informed the front desk staff and went down to get keys for a new room - the manager said he wanted to come up and see the toilet for himself (I guess my word and picture wasn’t enough? leaving the picture here for you all). Upon arrival at 1:30am after a cross country flight to meet family for thanksgiving, I checked into the hotel where the staff informed me they would be putting a $1100 hold on my card for the entire stay, not just security or incidentals(inclusive of a bogus $150 a night mini bar charge…huh?) This seemed strange to me so I changed my reservation from 3 nights to 1 on the spot. DONT WALK! RUN FROM THIS PROPERTY! Just yesterday, I encountered one of the worst hotel experiences of my life at Hotel Indigo LES.
